VISION THERAPY
 |
|
Since two-thirds of all information humans receive is visual, it is essential that our visual skills are efficient. Even for youngsters, these basic visual skills are necessary to perform tasks such as focusing, reading, walking and using a computer.
• Vision Therapy is a one-on-one treatment to improve one's visual function, performance and quality of life
• The procedure is individualized and supervised by an optometrist
• Home activities are administered to reinforce the development of optical skills
• Often times, vision problems are mislabeled as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), so it is critical to diagnose the problem in order to be properly treated and corrected
• Patients benefit from prescriptive lenses and/or optometric vision therapy

LOW VISION
 |
|
The Eye Center specializes in helping low-vision patients who have retinal problems, macular degeneration, and other problems that cannot be corrected with regular eyeglasses.
• Even with prescription eyeglasses, some individuals still have trouble performing everyday tasks, such as reading, writing checks and watching television.
• Fortunately, special devices - such as magnifying and telescopic lenses - have been developed.
• Individuals can see results as soon as they put on their new eyeglasses

COMPUTER EYE STRAIN CORRECTION
 |
|
About 66 million people in the United States spend three or more hours on the computer each day, leading to record-high
levels of eye strain.
The Eye Center has implemented a new eye exam process using patented, FDA-approved equipment
that determines one's eyeglass prescription based on the distance the computer is from his or her eyes.
• Called the PRIO VDT Prescription System, it is the only method that duplicates the focusing demand a computer screen places on the eyes.
• With this, the doctor is able to know the exact correction needed to eliminate the underlying cause of eye strain.
• Symptoms of eye strain include blurred vision, headache, loss of focus and neck or shoulder pain.

CORNEAL REFRACTIVE THERAPY
 |
|
With its cutting-edge approach to eye care, The Eye Center offers an alternative to LASIK called Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). This method of vision correction is non-invasive and results are almost immediate.
• Effective for those who are nearsighted, have astigmatisms and for children.
• A special, custom-made contact lens is made from a computer image.
• While the individual sleeps, this lens gently reshapes the cornea and improves vision.
